GOMEL, 29 July (BelTA) – Students from Gomel Oblast won gold and silver medals at the 23rd International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) in the city of Pattaya, Thailand, BelTA learned from the Education Department of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee.
Gennady Korotkevich from Gomel gymnasium No. 56 has become absolute winner of the competition. Silver medals went to Sergei Kulik, Adam Bardashevich from Mozyr and Vladislav Podtelkin from Gomel.

GOMEL, 27 July (BelTA) – Gomel Rumyantsev-Paskevich Palace will play host to the exhibition of pictures on glass on 28 July, BelTA has learned.
The exposition will feature 46 pictures provided by the Vernacular Architecture and Ethnic Heritage Museum. The museum’s exhibits reflect traditional way of life of people of the late 19th century. Among the exhibits is a unique collection of pictures on glass.

GOMEL, 20 July (BelTA) – The Gomel Oblast Executive Committee and China’s Inner Mongolia have signed an agreement on trade, economic, scientific, cultural cooperation, BelTA has learned.

MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) – The processing of oil at Mozyr Oil Refinery, including Azerbaijani oil, goes according to the production schedule, representatives of Belarusian Oil Company told BelTA.
The source said that Azeri oil is supplied to Belarus regularly in line with the contract. Oil is delivered by tank ships to the Yuzhny sea port and then is piped through the Odessa-Brody pipeline to Mozyr Oil Refinery. A tank ship batch averages 80,000 tonnes.

Gomel Wagon Repair Plant named after Kalinin and Ukraine’s Kryukov Wagon Building Plant are the founders of the new enterprise Gomel Wagon Building Plant. The joint venture will be set up at Gomel Wagon Repair Plant by 1 December 2011.
