Union State Chernobyl programme to head agenda of Gomel meeting

The implementation of the programme of joint action to mitigate the consequences of the Chernobyl accident within the framework of the Belarus-Russia Union State for 2006-2010 will top the agenda of a meeting in Gomel, at National Scientific Practical Center for Radiation Medicine and Human Ecology on August 6-7, BelTA learned in the Union State Permanent Committee. Partaking in the meeting will be representatives of the Belarusian and Russian Ministries for Emergency Situations and the Union State Permanent Committee. They will also get familiar with the work of the Belarusian-Russian information centre in Minsk. This is the second Union State programme of joint action to mitigate the consequences of the Chernobyl accident. The volume of assignments from the Union State makes up RUB 1.2 billion.
