Gomel wins Grand Prix of 9th international festival “Slavic Theater Meetings”

Gomel completed the 9th international theater festival “Slavic Theater Meetings” attended by 11 theater companies from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. The Grand-Prix holder became a play “Went without Returning” of the Gomel Oblast Drama Theater. As a BelTA correspondent was told by director of the Gomel Oblast Drama Theater Valentina Rogovskaya, this is the first Gomel work in line with the program on state and public support of theaters of the CIS and Baltic countries carried out under the auspices of the Russian president. The play “Went without Returning” has been staged by honored artist of Russia, director of the Ostrovskiy Moscow Oblast Drama Theater Valentin Varetskiy. At the end of October it was presented in Moscow at the festival “Victory Parade”. Among the nominees of the contest of the festival “Slavic Theater Meetings” were the Moscow Drama Theater in Perovskaya street, the Mogilev Oblast Drama Theater – a winner in the nomination “The best male role”.
