Gomel oblast’s delegation participates in First Slavonic International Economic Forum in Bryansk

GOMEL, February 18 (BelTA) – A delegation of the Gomel oblast led by Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Alexander Yakobson is taking part in the First Slavonic International Economic Forum in Bryansk, BelTA learnt from spokesman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Evgeny Pobolovets. Attending the forum are representatives of Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Poland, Serbia, Moldova, China, Austria, Germany and other countries. Opening the forum, Speaker of the Russian State Duma Boris Gryzlov made a report. The head of the Russian Parliament noted that the main goal of such forums is to create the common economic market of the Slavonic countries. In the Bryansk oblast, Russian companies actively cooperate with Ukrainian and Belarusian companies. As an example, Boris Gryzlov cited the Russian-Belarusian joint venture Bryanskselmash which produces agricultural machinery. There are about hundred of such companies in both the countries, the official noted. Exhibition “Investment potential. Prospects of cooperation” is being held within the framework of the First Slavonic International Economic Forum which will be running through February 19. The exhibition features investment projects and proposals which reflect the economic potential of the Bryansk oblast and the neighbouring border regions of Belarus and Ukraine.
