Gomel hosts 11th session of CIS council of rectors of consumer cooperation universities

GOMEL, 28 September (BelTA) – The CIS council of rectors of consumer cooperation universities stands for the integration into the world educational community. This initiative was announced by Rector of the Poltava Consumer Cooperation University (Ukraine) Aleksey Nestula and supported by his counterparts at the 11th session of CIS council of rectors of consumer cooperation universities which opened in Gomel on 28 September.
According to experts, there is a need to reach the international level of cooperation between the consumer cooperation universities.
During plenary sessions on 28-29 September, heads of the consumer cooperation universities will share opinions regarding the state, problems and prospects of the development of consumer cooperation amid the global financial and economic crisis. Special attention will be paid to preparation of personnel and introduction of new information technologies into the training process.
One of the sessions of the CIS council of rectors of consumer cooperation universities will present the guidelines and general objectives of the 3rd phase of the trans-European cooperation scheme for higher education (Tempus III) on behalf of the Seville University (Spain). Within the recent several years, Belarusian universities have been participating in the project.
The forum will analyze the implementation of the memorandum on cooperation and mutual support of consumer cooperation universities of the Commonwealth. Participants of the session will visit Minsk and the Belarus National Library.
Taking part in the forum are delegations from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. The CIS council of rectors of consumer cooperation universities was established in May 1995. Its first session was held in Lvov (Ukraine).
