Gomel to host Days of Culture of CIS countries

GOMEL, 26 August (BelTA) – Gomel will play host to the Days of Culture of CIS countries till the end of the year. These events are part of the project Gomel – Belarus and CIS Capital of Culture 2011, BelTA learned from the culture department of Gomel City Hall. The Days of Culture of Russia will be held in late September. The event will feature concerts of famous Russian singers and bands, a tour of the Ryazan theater, several exhibitions. Gomel will also welcome the Music Academy of Yuri Bashmet. There are also plans to implement joint cultural projects with Georgia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. The city of Gomel will be the venue for numerous exhibitions, days of cinema, and tours of celebrated bands from these countries.
