Gomel Oblast celebrates Library Day

GOMEL, 13 September (BelTA) – A promotional event “Night at the Library” will be held in Gomel Oblast on 13 September, BelTA learnt from the Lenin Regional Library of Gomel, one of the organizers of the event.

The event will be held in Gomel Oblast for the first time. It is dedicated to the Library Day celebrated in Belarus on 15 September. Partaking in the event will be the largest libraries of Gomel, Rechitsa, Zhlobin, Kalinkovichi, Chechersk, Svetlogorsk, Mozyr and other towns.

The event will start near the Gomel Regional Library with a theatrical performance “Night of Masters” dedicated to the novel “The Master and Margarita” by Mikhail Bulgakov. The organizers prepared a program for young people. Those who are interested in music and literature will have an opportunity to attend a meeting with writers and musicians from Gomel.

The evening program prepared by the Herzen Central City Library of Gomel will also be packed with different events. People will have an opportunity to make a literary journey to different counties based on some popular writings. They will visit Ukraine, a Farm Near Dikanka in particular, Belarus where they will meet with a writer from Gomel Vasily Tkachev, and Sweden. Those who prefer more exciting pastime will be offered a tour to the library vault “Labyrinth of Fear”.
