Gomel to start building first hypermarket in March

The construction of the first Gomel hypermarket will begin in March 2006, representatives of the city hall's capital construction department told BelTA. The hypermarket will be situated in Rechitskoye Shosse Street in Sovetskiy district. Its area will total 8,000 square meters. According to construction regulations, the construction should be completed within eight months. The construction will be carried out and funded by a foreign private company, which is completing works at a similar object in Mogilev. Future hypermarket customers will be offered a wide choice of foods and non-foods, with domestic products occupying a decent place among them. Meanwhile, as soon as the hypermarket is opened, the number of Gomel city markets will be decreased. in turn, market traders will be offered selling grounds in the hypermarket. Like other hypermarkets, which exist in Belarus today, the Gomel one will have a car parking lot.
