Gomel students to share experience of healthy life style promotion with young people from Russia and Ukraine

The youth organizations of the Russian Federation and Ukraine are studying the experience of student centres of the Gomel oblast of Belarus. Representatives of the Bryansk, Orel (Russia) and the Chernigov oblasts (Ukraine) have arrived in Gomel to take part in a round table to consider the issues relating to organization of the work of the government bodies and public associations with the youth of the Gomel oblast. The guests will also attend a contest of the student centres which promote healthy life style. As BelTA learnt from head of the youth affairs department of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Oleg Tsilko, the Russian and Ukrainian guests are interested in our experience of healthy life style promotion to young people. According to Oleg Tsilko, there are no such youth centres in the neighboring Russian and Ukrainian regions so far. However, representatives of the Bryansk, Orel and the Chernigov oblasts would like to organize such centres in their regions. Oleg Tsilko also noted that in 1996 the Bryansk, Gomel, Mogilev, Orel and Chernigov oblasts signed an agreement on youth cooperation. The plan of the joint measures for 2008 includes around 25 actions dedicated to healthy life style promotion, the Pioneer Movement, organization of tent camps. One of the most significant event is the international youth camp Friendship which is traditionally held on the border of the three Slavonic countries – Belarus, Russia and Ukraine on the eve of the Youth Day. This year the youth festival will be held in the Russian Federation.
