Gomel emergency workers have prepared 62 mobile power generators in case of emergencies at the region’s boiler houses, head of Gomel region agency of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry Gennadiy Lasuta told BelTA.
These power generators will ensure uninterrupted functioning of boiler houses in strong cold conditions that are likely to hit Gomel region within the next few days in accordance with weather forecasts. Emergency Ministry units have 26 power generators with the capacity of up to 30 kWh on standby, 11 power generators with the capacity of 30-60 kWh, 4 power generators with the capacity of 60-65 kWh, 12 power generators with the capacity of 100-200 kWh, and 1 power generator with the capacity of 1,050 kWh.
To liquidate consequences of possible natural calamities Gomel region rescue rangers have two cranes, 116 excavators and bulldozers. Their technical status is constantly monitored. If there is a need, the equipment can by engaged at any time.
Gennadiy Lasuta stressed, now specialists of the region emergency agency together with the region weather service are monitoring the advance of a cold anticyclone. If the air temperature drops below minus 20 degrees centigrade, Gomel region emergency workers will go in heavy duty mode.
