Gomel region agricultural enterprises have received one of the largest tractor batches in the recent history – 368 tractors. Keys to the last 15 of them were presented to the best machine operators of Khoyniki district today.
Deputy chairperson of the regional agriculture and food committee Anatoliy Pavlyukov informed, the machines were bought with a state loan of USD 30 million allocated on an order of the Belarusian president. The first tranche has been spent completely. The region will be able to buy the second batch in early 2007.
According to Anatoliy Pavlyukov, they bought various modifications of powerful tractors for the region’s farmers. Besides, regional machine engineering companies made wide-cut mounted tools such as soil cultivators as long as 4-4.3 metres for better performance of the tractors.
For a year specialists will be assessing effectiveness of the tractors to name one modification, which is most suitable for Gomel region, by the end of the season. The information will be used to order new tractors from Minsk Tractor Plant.
