The Gomel oblast summed up the results of the traditional New Year’s charitable action Our Hearts to Children. It was held on December 1, 2007 -January 20, 2008.
The Gomel oblast department of the Belarusian children’s fund organized nearly 70 charitable New Year’s parties for almost 3 thousand children from low-income families, orphans and disabled children, BelTA learnt from Larisa Mezhevich, the director of the Gomel oblast department of the Belarusian children’s fund. The oblast department also arranged charitable New Year theatre performances in the Gomel State Puppet Show Theatre, the Palace of Children’s and Youth Creativity and other cultural establishments.
Besides, some 2890 students took part in a charity action of collecting soft toys, school articles, and sweets for children undergoing treatment in the oblast hospitals.
The charitable action was sponsored by 14 juridical persons and five educational establishments of Gomel.
