The administration of the free economic zone “Gomel-Raton” is scanning for an investor to set up on its territory a factory for production of CD-Rs and DVD-Rs, CD and DVD boxes, the administration of the zone told BelTA.
The project amounts to USD 6.485 million, the pay off period – 3.9 years.
The new facility is planned to appear at the unused territory of the JSC Koral. The FEZ specialists noted that the need for such a production is fueled by a rapidly growing demand for these goods and absence of the appropriate such production faculties in Belarus.
The Russian Federation will become the main sales market for these products. The customers will include record labels, audio- and video-distribution companies, computer firms and other commercial and non-profit entities, office personnel, programmers and common users.
According to the estimation of the FEZ specialists, 100 per cent utilization of the production facilities is possible into the second year of the implementation of the project.
FEZ “Gomel-Raton” was created by Decree #93 of the President of the Republic of Belarus of March 2, 1998 for 50 years. This is a comprehensive project which includes setting up of production facilities, export and free customs zones. Today there are 37 residents in the free economic zones with the average number of employees of 5.4 thousand people.
