Bulgaria interested in promoting trade-economic relations with Gomel oblast

Bulgaria is interested in promoting trade-economic relations with the Gomel oblast, BelTA learnt from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bulgaria to the Republic of Belarus Petko Ganchev. On December 13 he met with chairman of the Gomel oblast executive committee Alexander Yakobson. According to the ambassador, Bulgarian businessmen intend to purchase farm machines made by the production association Gomselmash. “We need more agricultural equipment in Bulgaria. In 2008 we may arrange a visit of representatives of our companies to Gomselmash,” said the diplomat. Moreover, he offered Gomselmash top managers to study prospects and possibilities of establishing cooperation in the wine-making sector. Bulgarian businessmen can also take part in the technical upgrade of the processing companies of the Gomel oblast. The ambassador stands for promoting cooperation in the cultural, educational and travel spheres. According to him, the Days of Bulgaria in the Gomel oblast, which are taking place in the region on December 12-13 for the first time, gave additional impetus to the development and strengthening of bilateral relations. The Bulgarian delegation visited Gomselmash and the Vetka-based museum of arts and crafts. A literary soiree dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the liberation of Bulgaria from the Ottoman yoke was organised in the Gomel palace and park complex. Moreover, the Bulgarian ambassador will attend a lecture on the formation and development of the Slavonic civilization, which will be held for students of the Gomel State University named after F.Skoryna. A heavy cultural programme is prepared for Gomel residents as well. For example, the Days of Bulgarian Pictures will be held in Gomel cinema halls on December 12-14.
