230 crews of combiners of Gomel oblast thresh 1 thousand tonnes of grain

Some 230 crews of combiners of the Gomel oblast have threshed 1 thousand tonnes of grain and more for the first time, BelTA learnt from the Gomel Oblast Trade Union of Agrarians. In 2007, 110 combiners reached this target. The leader of the oblast competition is a crew of combiners of the agricultural company Kholmech of the Rechitsa region. The combiners of that company have already threshed almost 5.3 thousand tonnes of grain. Leaders of the harvesting campaign from the other regions of the oblast threshed more than 2 thousand tonnes of grain each. According to specialists, 5-6 years ago agricultural companies of the oblast did not reach such results. More than 95% of the local combiners use the equipment produced by Gomselmash – combine harvesters КЗР-10, КЗС-10К, КЗС-1218. According to the Gomel Oblast Trade Union of Agrarians, by the end of harvesting campaign 2008, the number of the crews which will thresh more than 1 thousand of grain will increase up to 250. Moreover, this year, the Gomel combiners are expected to harvest no less than 350 thousand tonnes of corn seed.
