Gomel Oblast, Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod Oblast to set up machine-tool holding company
Gomel Oblast and Russia's Nizhny Novgorod Oblast have plans to set up a joint machine-tool holding company. The matter was discussed at a meeting between Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Vladimir Dvornik and Head of the Representative Office of Nizhny Novgorod in Belarus Sergei Petrov on 11 December, BelTA has learned.

Italian sports authorities impressed with training infrastructure in Gomel Oblast
Belarus' Gomel Oblast has a well-developed sports infrastructure, so it
may become a training ground for Italian athletes, President of the YRA
Humanitarian Association Egidio Lazzarini said as he met with Gomel
Oblast authorities on 4 November. A delegation of businessmen and civil
servants working in the field of sport from the Italian province of
Tuscany, led by Egidio Lazzarini, is currently on a visit to Belarus'
Gomel Oblast, BelTA has learned.

EU to earmark €5m for Belarus-UNDP project on local initiatives
Before the end of 2017 the European Union is expected to allocate €5
million for the implementation of the Belarus-UNDP project on the
development of local initiatives, UNDP Deputy Permanent Representative
in Belarus Yekaterina Paniklova told media ahead of the roundtable on
sustainable social and economic development of the Chernobyl-hit regions
scheduled for 27 October as part of the UN70 Express campaign in Gomel.
